CASS Housing receives Grant from 3Rivers Credit Union Foundation for $6000
Fort Wayne, IN (6/6/17) – CASS Housing is pleased to announce it has received $6000 from the 3 Rivers Federal Credit Union Foundation.
CASS Housing is a privately-funded non-profit organization creating housing and support options for adults with developmental disabilities. Due to significant budget cuts and program changes at the state and federal level, many people with developmental disabilities (Autism, Down Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injuries, etc.) are left with no housing options until their parents turn 80 years old or pass away. CASS Housing has created three different housing models that are able to adapt on a person-to-person and home-by-home basis for those individuals needing weekly, daily, and 24/7 support.
With over 100 people currently on the waiting list, families have identified that the primary issue they are facing is identifying possible housemates. The grant will be used for operational support to do just that-connecting Core Members and families.
“3 Rivers Federal Credit Union has been an incredible asset to CASS Housing,” said David Buuck, Founder and Executive Director of CASS Housing. “Not only have they worked with us to secure the needed financing for the first home, but they are actively supporting the most important aspect of our mission through this grant. We’re thankful for their continued support of CASS Housing!”
